Welcome!
My name is Sam Hindson. I work as a PhD student at the Centre for Quantum Mathematics at SDU in Odense, Denmark. My research interests include resurgence, gauge theory, exact WKB analysis, and the geometric and topological underpinnings of various aspects of physics.
At the moment I’m busy thinking about how to apply cool tools from resurgent analysis to geometric quantisation of Chern–Simons theory. My supervisors are Jørgen Ellegaard Andersen and William Elbæk Mistegård.
Back home in South Africa, I programmed and co-founded Don’t Fail, a little app oriented towards helping school students prepare for their final exams. Although I am no longer involved in the development of version 3, I am very proud of the project.
Articles
Here are some things I have written about. I am in the process of writing up a nice page summarizing my Masters thesis, together with a page about my note-taking setup.
- Honours Thesis – Hawking and de Sitter radiation from WKB tunneling
- Bachelors Thesis – The renormalization group and block spin coarse graining
